Ever wondered why despite so much industrial and economic growth, Gujarat recorded only 4% growth in the GST collection compared to last year in the same month?
Actually the biggest GST scam across Gujarat has been unearthed, which is expected to cross ₹45,000 crores in Bhavnagar alone.
Mohammad Tata, the mastermind behind bogus billing worth ₹740 crores by creating 121 bogus companies, has been arrested.
Murshid Alam, Another main accused of GST scam worth ₹496 crores by creating 17 bogus entities, has also been arrested.
Usman Gani along with Faisal Kholia, Aftab Solanki and Anand Parmar, who had carried out GST scam worth ₹2706 crores has been arrested.
Sufiyan Kapadia, the mastermind behind a GST input tax credit evasion scam worth about Rs 2,700 crore. This case involved the creation of more than 1,500 shell companies to defraud the government, and Kapadia is the 19th person to be arrested in connection with it.
Irfan Shabbirhussain Kazi, a mastermind who would get documentary evidence such as Aadhar cards, PAN cards, light bills, etc from needy poor people and use them to create 10 bogus firms and generated Rs. 83 crore bills to pass on tax credit worth Rs. 15 crores
Yunus Chakkiwala, also used documents of roadside perfume vendor Uvesh Sopariwala to form bogus entities for ₹1.89 crore tax credit scam, because of which the poor perfume vendor received income tax notice of ₹28.59 crores.
There are many others involved in this scam and till now it has been found that at least 25% of the estimated Rs 20,000 crore of fake billing took place in Gujarat.
The more surprising thing is that this news is not being reported by any of national News Channels.
