Here is the fastest way to learn anything:
What would you say if someone asked you the following:
"I have 30 days to learn French from scratch, what would you recommend?"
The answer should be:
"Go to a French-speaking country and ONLY speak in French".
Why is this so effective?
Let's go over one of the reasons why.
Iterations are more effective than being perfect.
Doing something 100 times and learning a little bit each time is more effective than doing something 1 time and learning "a lot".
The acquisition of skills is maximized by messing up and starting over and over again.
Messing up words in French and correcting along the way is more effective than just reading a French book.
This is why speed is more effective than quality.
Quality will come from iterations. Just get the task done and move on.
This tip may be obvious but many people suffer from perfectionism.
This can completely halt progress and derail motivation.
I had this happen to me last week as I was trying to launch my newsletter sign up page.
I wasn't happy with my design and kept redoing it.
I ended up spending many hours in an endless cycle.
Eventually, I realized I can revamp the webpage whenever I want.
So I ended up launching a working but crappy looking newsletter sign-up page.
But this allowed me to move on to the next task.
Just remember, whenever you feel your work isn't good enough, give yourself 30 more minutes and accept whatever abomination you may have made.
If you want to check out my shitty newsletter sign-up page here it is: justsoharsh.com.
