Some people had grand parents who were heavy tithers in their churches way back in those days. The grandparents didn't see much results but your friend has almost everything working for him/her.

Some in the last 5 generations used a full family as sacrifice to their gods for untouchable success and you'll just see the whole family making waves without doing much.

These gods are still watching and expecting children born later to continue these activities. But you have no idea that these altars ever existed. And the founders and worshippers of this altars have laid curses down ignorantly that any of their generation who stops the libation,
...should have no peace and be miserable till they remember to come for the libation.

You should consider doing consecrated prayers to destroy the activities of any altar first before deciding if you want to live anyhow or not like your friend who probably has a family that had detached themselves from such altars a very long time ago.
