I used to suck at storytelling.
But then I discovered an incredible tactic:
Future pacing.
Here’s how you can use it to tell masterful stories:
What is future pacing?
Future pacing makes your reader imagine an outcome.
It paints a picture in their head,
They get what they want.
Here’s why you need to use it:
WHY future pacing is important?
The benefits:
- Boost sales
- Tap into emotions
- Make deeper connections
The list goes on and on.
Ready to learn this powerful technique?
“Picture the joy of making your first dollar online”
BAM! You now have psychic powers.
Here’s why:
- You stirred emotions.
- You tapped into dreams
- You became the guide (with solutions)
Follow up with this:
"My services will give you that joy, guaranteed.”
You’ve heard of foreshadowing
But you were never taught how to use it.
Have no fear - I’ll show you.
Quick definition:
Foreshadowing is hinting at what’s to come.
Make sense?
Let me show you an example:
“She purchased the course, not knowing her life would be changed forever”
Why this works:
- Adds context
- Engages reader
- Sprinkles some drama
The next tactic will make you a hypnotist:
Now that you understand the basics of future pacing,
Let me show you how to use it to influence.
Adding a twist hooks the reader.
Catch my drift?
It works like this:
Foreshadow future:
“The client joined the seminar, not knowing it would change her business forever.”
Add the twist:
“Not only did it change her business, but it also changed her relationships too, here’s how:”
This keeps the reader begging for more.
Don’t forget this:
Now that you can show the future,
You need to write about what’s changed.
Remember:
People buy transformation.
Show the future
Add a twist
Sell the change
Hope that helps.
