Taking cognisance of an investigation by The Indian Express, the #Jharkhand govt formed a four-member panel to conduct a “high-level investigation” into “widespread irregularities” in the implementation of “Per Drop More Crop” – a key element of the Centre’s ambitious #PradhanMantriKrishiSinchayeeYojana – in the state.

🔴Brand new equipment was gathering dust

What exactly is the scheme in question?
Launched by the Centre in 2006 and first implemented by the state in 2011, the 'Per Drop More Crop' scheme was meant to enhance water use and increase farmers’ productivity through the use of drip or sprinkler systems, particularly in arid areas. 🌿💧
