IMO: Jingoism & the feeling that we need to defeat Putin by any means necessary, even if it means allying with Nazis. After all, in believing that Putin is the antithesis to democracy, anyone who opposes him can be made to look as if they're fighting for democracy. Even Nazis.

He also blamed Russia for their existence and insisted that the best way to get rid of those Nazis is to get rid of Russia (so those Nazis have no reason to exist, I guess?).

People who adopt Shekhovtsov's logic are a heartbeat away from saying Hitler was right and we should have sided with the Nazis in WW2... if they're not there already.
Hear me out. If you think it's logical to side with Nazis against Putin because he wants to restore the Soviet Union, they why would you not side with German Nazis who opposed the Soviet Union, back when it actually existed?
During WW2 we had a name for people who thought like that: Nazi Sympathizers.
