Saudi Arabia revealed the master plan for #RiyadhExpo2030 during the official reception organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City in Paris on 19 June, in the presence of delegates from 179 member countries of the Bureau International des Expositions.
The #RiyadhExpo2030 site is located a few minutes away from the King Salman International Airport and connected via modern road network and Riyadh Metro that covers all parts of the city of Riyadh.
The #RiyadhExpo2030 pavilions, estimated to be 226, were designed in a spherical shape, with an equator line running through them and this visual approach aligns with the World Expo’s vision, ensuring equal opportunities for all participants.
The pavilions at #RiyadhExpo2030 will be located flexibly around their general longitude, which will bring countries from the Global North and the Global South, a symbol of an important role that the Kingdom can play and wishes to play to facilitate North-South cooperation.
The #RiyadhExpo2030 presents concepts related to international standards of sustainability, such as afforestation of urban areas, the use of treated water, the provision of new energy sources, in addition to enabling the reuse of the site after the completion of the Expo.
