Now that euphoria of State Visit is ebbing down. Lets get back to reality. All these deals are fine but what have we bartered in return. There are no free lunches. Americans have spelled out how they deal India in decade ahead in case you missed out:
πThe Roadmap for US-India Defence Industrial Co-operation agreed on 05th June 2023 is as follows:
βΊ With an aim to make India a logistic hub for the United States and other partners in the Indo-Pacific region, the United States intends to support India in the creation of logistic, repair, and maintenance infrastructure for aircraft and ships.
βΊ The United States intends to support the integration of Indian defense industry into global supply chains of U.S. defense and aerospace companies.
Thereby:
πThis technically means turning India into a midscale MIC that supports & services American & allies like we did in WW1 & WW2.

πThe two agreements under discussions are Security of Supply Arrangement (SOSA) and Reciprocal Defence Procurement Agreement (RDP).
Indian private companies will be qualified as suppliers and contractors for US Department of Defence (DoD) orders
This will also open doors for the manufacturing sector in terms of orders for casting and other components made of steel, copper, nickel, titanium and zirconium needed for US military orders, co-aligning the defence manufacturing ecosystems of the two countries.

You see how Indian Defence & Aerospace is now being integrated with the US Department of Defense. It began with DTTI, LEMOA, COMCASA, BECA & ISA, iCet, UIDIC & to be followed by SOSA & RDP.
Its like a serpentine coil dont know how much autonomy you would be able to exercise.

Your independence & autonomy in Aerospace & Defence get nibbled bit by bit. But as Geo Political realist i guess this was to happen. This shift was eventual we had no option after Russian pipeline dried up post Ukraine war and a new reality dawned in the region vis Sino-Russian alliance.
Its a difficult choice like between Devil & the Deep Blue Sea. I hope Indian MIC can rise to occasion and benefit from these deals. And here i am not counting Deep State Globalist agendas which are free run in India anyway. And if not this Government then next one would have signed these deals as this shift was inevitable IMO !
GE F404 has powered Tejas MK1, GE F414 will power Tejas MK2 & AMCA. Apache, Chinooks, M-777, Drones, P8I Naval Surveillance Aircrafts. NASA-ISRO Accords. Armoured personal carriers & probably American SAM systems might make way into India. Lets see how it goes from hereon !
The Russian partnership is all but over. We can formally call ourselves American ally now. π
