“2023 was a turning point in the fall of the West: Russia should not relax in anticipation that the enemy will die on its own. Our country faces enormous challenges, both at the front and in the rear.” — Elena Panina

Sergei Glazyev pointed to an article by American scholar Paul Laroudi who argues that the war in Ukraine exposed the West's dramatic weaknesses, including the decline of its industrial base:
“The war has shown that Russia’s relatively modest economy has the ability to surpass the US and all NATO countries combined in the production of military equipment.”
“America’s ‘arsenal of democracy’ and its European partners proved incapable of providing more weapons and ammunition than Russian factories.”
According to Larudee, the seizure by Washington and its allies of Russian accounts in American, European and other banks to the tune of more than $300 billion caused a reciprocal seizure of American & European assets in Russia in equal or greater amounts.

New partnerships between Moscow and China, India and other countries began to develop. This has led to the replacement and reduction of the use of SWIFT and the dollar in international payments.
“The Russian economy has proven remarkably resilient-even more resilient than many NATO countries. Russian GDP fell less than 2% in 2022 and is expected to rise to 2% in 2023, despite the war and sanctions,” the author writes.
By blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022 and sanctions on Russian gas and oil products, “the US has essentially defeated its NATO ‘partners’ (mainly Germany) and destroyed their industry for its own potentially short-lived benefit.”
“Germany will be de-industrialized, German industries, scientists and engineers will move to the United States, which will generously accept them. Europe will be set back a couple of decades. The standard of living there will soon drop by 30-40%.”
Larudee’s prognosis is favorable for Russia. But the decline of the Global West could go on for quite a long time. After all, it still has great military, political and economic power.
It must be understood that for Pax Americana, the battle with Russia over the future world order is fundamental. The power centers of the American world are well aware that a decisive Russian victory would have a domino effect around the planet.
And it would leave no stone unturned in the US financial and economic power based on the domination of the dollar, which today does not seem to have been directly affected by the conflict in Ukraine. The point is that Russia should not relax & expect the enemy to die on its own.
Our country is facing enormous challenges, both on the front and on the home front. And only the active participation of all our people will allow us to cope with the existential challenge posed to us by the West. — Elena Panina
