I'm gonna be serious for like 10 minutes.
Have you noticed how there's nothing actually really conservative about right-wing politics anymore?
Like, strictly, politically speaking.
Sure, if you go far-right enough, sure, It's very "RETVRN" but the average is just populism.

It's really interesting to see how the meaning of modern "conservatism" stands. There's no point to political beliefs, and more about how things look. There's no concept about values, it's just surface-level appearances, dunking on the Left, and culture wars.
Some people think it's because of Trump but I think it's actually different. Trump was kind of just a symptom of what was already kind of happening.
The Overton window has shifted and what's considered Progressive or leftist has moved further and gotten narrower.

What we see as progressive or leftist has become, not smaller, but more focused(?)/specific(?). Everything that doesn't fit this genre is labeled as Right.
Like, look at radical feminists. Regardless of their politics, they're considered far right because of transphobia.

This makes the picture of conservatism look messy, as it becomes a publicized mix of many different ideas the people just accept, as long as they're dunking or against specific parts of the left in some way.
It's so weird that we're focused on this political binary

So, what does conservatism mean when it seems to include everything that's not considered leftist?
Is there anything left for you to "conserve" now?
This leads to a strange situation where the Right spends most of its time opposing things, rather than promoting ideas.

A perpetual state of opposition, where the Right can't stand on its own because there's nothing to hold it up.
All that remains for the Right is to voice dissent to Wokeness, or express concern over aspects of the LGBT community they find objectionable.

This reactivity, rather than proactive advocacy for a unique set of principles, seems to be the new modus operandi.
It's honestly fascinating.
Very stupid, but fascinating.
