Salah (prayer) is a source of peace, guidance, and mercy.
But what if you don’t feel comfort during salah? What if you feel distracted, bored, or restless?
In this thread, I will share some tips that may help you
1. Understand what you are reciting in salah.
This means to learn the meanings of the words and phrases that you say in salah, such as the takbir (saying Allahu akbar), the fatihah (the opening chapter of the Quran)..
..the surahs (the chapters of the Quran), the ruku’ (the bowing), the sujud (the prostration), and the tashahhud (the testimony of faith). This will help you appreciate the beauty and wisdom of the Quran and the sunnah (the way of the Prophet).
2. Imagine that you are standing before Allah.
This means to remember that Allah is watching you, hearing you, and knowing your thoughts and feelings.
It also means to remember that this could be your last salah, as you don’t know when you will die.
This will help you to pray with humility, awe, and gratitude.
3. Seek refuge from Shaytan (the devil).
This means to say “a’udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajeem” (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan) before starting your salah, and to say “bismillah” (in the name of Allah) before reciting any surah.
It also means to spit lightly to your left three times and seek Allah’s protection if you feel any whispering or distraction from Shaytan during your salah.
This will help you to resist his evil influence and tricks.
4. Make dua (supplication) after your salah.
This means to ask Allah for anything that you need or want, such as forgiveness, guidance, health, wealth, happiness, etc.
It also means to praise Allah for His blessings and favors, and to thank Him for enabling you to perform salah.
This will help you increase your love and trust in Allah, and to feel His closeness and response.
