🧵THREAD: 7 Critical Levers To Get Your Funnel Or Affiliate Campaign Converting Profitably on Cold Traffic
Most people who've seen some semblance of success in the direct response space know that...
There are a few key levers that when pulled...
(CONTINUED) 🧵
Can take your VSL or aff campaign from -50% ROI to 200% ROI.
Here are a few levers to consider if you have a struggling funnel:
#1 - The Offer
Should go without saying - but IMO you should be testing multiple offers in the same category any time you're trying to crack a new...
vertical.
Pro tip: Take the extra time to actually watch the VSL (or study the advertisers lander if not VSL) and take notes. Not only will you spark some ideas for creating ads, but if you find yourself wanting to watch to the very end, good chance its a good offer to run.
#2 - Media Buying Tactics
Running FB traffic? There's been countless times where changing from ABO to CBO (or vice versa)...
Or testing interests / different camp structures
Has taken a campaign from bleeding money to consistently green right away.
Right now, CBO 1-1-1 broad seems to be working great. Few months ago, ABO was performing well.
#3 - Traffic Source
If you don't see other affiliates running a certain vertical on the traffic source you're trying to run on, I see it as an alarm bell.
Always spy on the marketplace to see where affiliates are scaling heavy with said vertical and run on there.
#4 - Mechanism
More on the offer ownership side for this one...
No matter how great your copy and video is, if the mechanism isn't enticing / new / keeps the viewers intrigued - you're fighting an uphill battle.
Testing different mechanisms with a similar intro / lead has given us some solid wins.
#5 - The Ad (duh)
Goes without saying but
you should be testing ads on a regular basis...
See what others are running and improve on their ad, test it against yours, rinse n' repeat.
When I have a profitable camp, I like to spend ~20% of budget towards new tests while the other 80% goes towards scaling.
#6 - Prelander
Prelanders that are congruent with the offer itself always perform the best. This is where going through the VSL and taking notes comes in handy.
#7 - Ad Account
You'd be surprised how much a difference some ad accounts behave vs. others...
I'd test on at least 1-2 different ad accounts if:
A) You've had a winning campaign in the past and stats are dying off
B) CPMs / CPCs are out of whack
C) You can't get a campaign green even though you're seeing others scaling similar ads
