Indian & foreign evidence attest tht from earlier times, people of Kamboj hd interacted with NE regions of ancient India including Bengal. Kambojs r known to hv lent their name to the places they hd occupied..1/n
Old Chinese txts refer to name Kapisa incessantly bt not to name Kamboj. Indian txts refer to Kambojcountlessly  but nt to Kapisa e.g only Panini & KA ref to  it once. S. Levi has explained this term thoroughly concluding tht Kamboj of Indian texts is Kapis of Chinese txts. 2/n

& Kambuson with Sanskrit Kamboj. So we may hv strong clues abt earlier migration of people<Kamboj/Kapis(NW) probably coming as traders/soldiers & settling  in Anc.Bengal...7/n
Kambuson, the 5th branch of Ganges of Ptolemy is identified with modern Kasai( Raychaudhury;Sircar),or Hugli (Thomas,Mcrindle) or more so as Suvarnarekha. Whatver the identification,region between Riv Dwarkeswar & Sabarnarekha hd been the heart of Pala Kamboja empire…8/n
