It took me 3 months to pass my frontend interview at Amazon
I did it by creating a system based off hours of research and preparation
Here is a simple guide to help you get ready for your future tech interviews
โœ… First, ask for time if you need to prepare. I found FAANG companies to be very flexible about that.
Take advantage of the resources your recruiter provides you. They will send documents and videos that will go over in detail what the interview process will be like and how youโ€ฆ
The level you apply for will dictate the # of interviews you have. For an L5 (mid) role, my interviews consisted of
2 Coding Questions
1 System Design
2 Behavioral
For an L4 (entry) role, you will probably not have a system design question. Letโ€™s break down each one.
Coding Q:
Get your javascript fundamentals down - map, reduce, filter, splice, slice, shift, unshift, push, etc
Build a lot of mini projects - calculator, forms, carousel, data-fetching, etc (frontendeval)
Leetcode (easy and medium) - you can do hard as well but I prioritizedโ€ฆ
Behavioral Q:
Study the LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES (google it). This is very IMPORTANT
Document your accomplishments and projects.
Answer them in the STAR Format.Situation, Task, Action, Result
Place each story into a leadership quality
Practice your answers and speak in front ofโ€ฆ
System Design Q:
Remember, frontend system design is not the same as backend โœ…
This is not about coding but how you would build a certain app from a FRONTEND perspective
Build twitter, fb, ig, Tiktok, Etsy - Think about performance, data interface, component layout structure,โ€ฆ
