Bit by a Scorpion 🦂 🧵
18 years of Christ's Life is 'missing' in the Bible. From the age of 12 to the age 30 is missing. The Sun actually 'leaves the zodiac' or goes 'missing' for 18 days while it is transiting (crossing) the astrological sign of Scorpio (the 3rd water sign).
During this Eighteen day period the Sun is outside of the boundaries of the traditional Zodiac and enters the constellation of Ophiuchus, the Serpent Holder.
John 3:14 reads, "And as Moses lifted up the Serpent in the Wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up."
In Alchemical Symbolism, the Scorpion (or Scarab) represented Initiation into the the Mysteries, the Dweller of the Underworld, the Scarab is the Seed, it is the "Cocoon". The Eagle (or Phoenix) is the Butterfly, the Higher Expression of Scorpio. Scorpio is a Transformative Sign.
Scorpio is a Transformative Sign.
The First Stage is the Scorpion, to the Egyptians the Scarab, which is the Seed or 'Root'.
As the Christos Oil makes it way up your Spine it becomes the Serpent.
Lastly, the Highest Expression of Scorpio is the Eagle or Pheonix. Reborn anew.
Scorpio's Transformative Quality explains Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
Scorpio & Taurus are at Opposite Ends of the Zodiac.
"The bull is esoterically the Constellation of Taurus; the serpent, its opposite in the zodiac, Scorpio; the sun, Mithras, entering into the side of the bull, slays the celestial bull & nourishes the universe with its blood."
As Manly P. Hall explains, "The slaying of the bull signifies that the rays of the sun, symbolized by the sword, release at the vernal equinox the vital essence of the earth, the blood of the bull, pouring from the wound made by the Sun God, fertilize the seeds of living things."
Next to Taurus is Orion while opposite the Ecliptic Ophiuchus stands on the Scorpion's Tail.
Orion and Ophiuchus mark the Golden Gate and Silver Gate of the Souls, in one Gate Souls enter into the Material Realm, the other Gate Souls depart the Material Realm.
In Greek Mythology, Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer, as Aesculapius brought Orion back to life after the Scorpion fatally wounded his heel. As a precaution, Orion and the Scorpion took places on opposite sides of the sky, but Ophiuchus & Orion remained close allies.
Ophiuchus rises out of the southeastern sky in the Northern Hemisphere, riding the celestial equator & peaking around late June before dipping back below the horizon for winter.
Orion, meanwhile, rises out of the southeastern sky in the Northern Hemisphere, riding the celestial equator and peaking around late December before dipping back below the horizon for the summer. Ophiuchus is the Summer Counterpart to Orion.
Scorpio, the Eagle or Scorpion, became associated with a Symbol of Sin (in the Sexual Sense), of Evil and Spiritual Death, and Scorpio is the Fourth Number of the Tetragrammaton- or Malkuth.
The Biblical "Four Beasts" represented the Physical Manifesation of the Tetragrammaton.
The 'Four Beasts' were the Four Fixed Signs of the Zodiac: Leo, Scorpio, Taurus & Aquarius. The Fixed Signs being the second, fifth, eighth & eleventh signs or 2+5+8+11 equaling 26, the Number of Jehovah, the Four Beasts were the Revealed Word of the Living G-d.
Other Masonic Authors consider Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius as the three murderers of the Sun or Hiram Abiff, inasmuch as Osiris was murdered by Typhon, to whom were assigned the thirty degrees of the constellation of Scorpio.
While in Egypt, the Sign of Virgo represented Isis; and her representation, carrying a child (Horus) in her arms, exhibited in her temple, was accompanied by this inscription: "I AM ALL THAT IS, THAT WAS, AND THAT SHALL BE; and the fruit which I brought forth is the Sun/ SON."
Hall explains, "Nine months after the Sun enters Virgo, he reaches the Twins. When Scorpio begins to rise, Orion sets: when Scorpio comes to the meridian, Leo begins to set, Typhon reigns, Osiris is slain, & Isis (the Virgin) his sister & wife, follows him to the tomb, weeping."
In Egyptian Mythology, Isis escapes from Set and finds Horus dying from a Scorpion's Bite, Isis begs for Thoth’s Help and Horus is miraculously cured. Horus, like Orion before him, were stung by the Scorpion then TRANSFORMED.
Scorpio to Serpent to Pheonix
In the Christian Mysteries Judas signifies the Scorpion, and the thirty pieces of silver for which he betrayed His Lord represent the number of degrees in that sign.
