Did you know that 60% of new managers fail within the first 24 months?
And 50% to 70% of new executives fail in the first 18 months.
To be successful, leaders must excel across three core domains of great leadership: (see below ⬇️) ……..
1)being future-focused
2) being good with people
3) being able to drive results.
And yet, as we develop as leaders, our brains evolve in ways that challenge our ability to excel in these areas.
HBR analysed dozens of leadership development programs used by larger organisations and discovered they often fail to equip leaders across all three domains.
So what can we do?
1) Focus on the Future
Rather than just doing the work of today, leaders must constantly scan for what’s next and make sure their teams are prepared. Being able to anticipate things like industry trends, future skills requirements, &customer needs is central to a leader’s success
Only 16% of executive leadership programs have outcomes dedicated to thinking about the future- find a provider that delivers this development (Yes Brilliant Teams do exactly this!) πŸ˜€
