The story of Miss Excel is incredibly inspirational, she was working full time at a consulting firm when the pandemic hit. She like many of us was stuck at home and decided it was time to try something new. That's when she founded Miss Excel.
At 27 she was already an Excel expert and did tons of training for companies and employees on how to use Excel effectively. So she decided to film some creative fun videos and create courses on how to use Excel. Little did she know just how successful this would become.
She started marketing herself on Social Media under the name "Miss Excel" and she was an instant hit. She put up 1 video per day and her 4th video got 100,000 views. Within 3 weeks she had 100,000 followers and one of her videos had 3.6 million views (this one).
Companies and people started reaching out so she decided it was time get serious and start creating full courses online. She released her first course on Black Friday of 2020, within 2 months she was making more per month than she did in a year at her job.
She decided to go all-in and film more courses while continuing to market her self on social media. By November of 2021 she was making over $100,000 PER DAY selling her courses online. She now has a successful 7-figure business that she runs online.
The crazy part is that was all before the AI boom and using her formula I believe that virtually anyone can start a successful business selling courses online with the help of AI. The formula is simple:
1. Create an online presence - This is the most important element, you need eyes on your product and social media is how you can do it fast. Checkout this thread on how to build one fast using AI:
2. Create quality courses - This is where AI can help. You don't have to be an expert in what you're selling (although it definitely helps). ChatGPT will give you the outline and then you can create the videos using AI video tools like Veed to add voiceovers and edit the videos.
3. Sell them online - Once you have your courses put together you can start selling them using sites like Gumroad, Coursera, & Udemy. You want to make sure they are quality, if your courses suck people will leave bad reviews and you won't get much traction. Quality > Quantity.
