The truth is that breast tax had nothing to do with any caste and was not imposed by upper caste women on lower caste women. In fact, both Nair and Nambuthiri women also used to stay bare-chested,without an upper garment. Nair even considered it immodest to wear…
Also the myth that the Ezhava woman of Nageli cuttng ßreast and asked people to save her from ßreast tax is also a LIE. There is NO EVIDENCE regarding the Naegeli incident.
The myth was created by Malayali painter Chitrakaran in his "blog" without any evidence of his claim.
