To clarify on the time period, although it has been said the award is based on 1st Aug - 31st Jul, there is no evidence of France Football following this strictly.
This time period would exclude legitimate games from last season that were 1 or 2 days outside of that date range (such as the French Super Cup), which was obviously not their intention.
I also don't think it makes sense to count any of Messi's Miami matches as "last season".
France Football seem to agree with this as the stats they posted for Messi's 22/23 season align with mine:
