The announcement came ahead of the criminal trial of Chilean-American journalist Gonzalo Lira who has been charged with, "justifying Russia's aggression, denying/glorifying Russian war crimes, and undermining Ukraine's leadership and Defense Forces." helsinkitimes.fi
Upon his original arrest, the SBU claimed that Lira had, "... denied the crimes of the Russian Federation and insulted Ukrainian defenders."
IMO: Ukraine picked the ideal candidate to set legal precedent for this injustice... someone who publicly spoke against the Ukrainian government and their military, but who would not garner much support from the Western public or even other "Russian propagandists".
The headlines surrounding his arrest were sprinkled heavily with ick-factors that repelled sympathy for his personhood, and everything about his activities since then has felt like a trap to other "Russian propagandists".
Maybe it was a trap. As one of those who Lira reached out to while he was under house arrest by the SBU, it certainly felt like to to me... but we have now moved beyond the time when the SBU could have used him for intel and evidence gathering Ops.
He has outlived those purposes, and Ukraine's fascist state has now moved on to the next phase: Making an example of him.
What does the Ukrainian government mean when they say they will hunt down "Russian propagandists"? It could mean that they will charge people in absentia and issue Interpol red notices to have people extradited for trials in Ukraine. pravda.com.ua
Or it could mean assassination... which they've already been carrying out with impunity on Russian soil. nytimes.com
In the case of Dugina, the SBU also picked the perfect person to make an example of. Instead of expressing outrage at this obvious act of terrorism, American pundits carried on about how she was probably a bad person. archive.ph
For those who think that the US wouldn't let Ukraine get away with assassinating journalists outside of Ukraine or Russia, think again. What have you heard about the attempted assassination of Adrien Bocquet (a French national) in Turkey (a NATO country)? infobrics.org
The way the Ukrainian state has programmed people to not just ignore, but to also be okay with and even pleased with the murder of civilians should not be ignored. This is the stuff atrocities are built with. dailymail.co.uk
The Ukrainian state also picked the perfect person to spread their message. Instead of the Ukrainian government, from whom the message comes, the messenger here is who draws any critical attention.
But make no mistake... this threat comes from the Ukrainian government, with support from the US government who sponsored an official Ukrainian state event declaring that "Russian propagandists" are "information terrorists" who should be tried for war crimes. cpd-gov-ua.translate.goog
The "Center for Combating Disinformation"... who publishes a daily list on Twitter of people who they claim are distributing "Russian disinformation".
The use of the word "combat" here is significant and intentional. Goes to show that they view words as weapons, and consider people who use them against the Ukrainian state as legitimate military targets.
People watch Sarah's video and makes jokes about how ludicrous this whole thing is. It is ludicrous, but I can tell you from personal experience that the Ukrainian state and their zealous followers are very serious about hunting people down.
I was attacked in my home by two men shortly after UkroTrolls like this started petitioning Ukrainian intel services to hire someone to shut me up: archive.ph
Fortunately, because of threats I received over the last year, I already had an armed private security detail in place and they were able to stop the hired thugs before I ended up with more than minor injuries.
Ukraine's military intelligence chief publicly admits that they've been murdering "Russian propagandists" around the world and will continue doing so. He is also pleased that some of these murders have been "well publicized". archive.ph
This is literally, state sponsored terrorism.
For those who may not know, when I said "English speaking spokesperson for the Ukrainian military" I was serious. Sarah is an official spokesperson for the Ukrainian military, and this announcement was made on their official broadcast. newsweek.com
ICYMI: This makes the Ukrainian military's announcement even more menacing...
