I am going to list each of his lies and how they were caught out. 👇

**Lie 1: FBI Informant at the Mosque**
- In one of his Netflix specials, Hasan Minhaj recounted a story about an FBI informant, Brother Eric, who infiltrated his family's mosque in 2002.
- Hasan Minhaj suggested that he had identified Brother Eric as an informant from the beginning and that this led to a humorous encounter with the police.
- How it was busted: Brother Eric, the informant, contradicted Minhaj's account by stating that he had not worked in the Sacramento area in 2002, where Minhaj's family's mosque was located. Additionally, there was no record of such an incident with the police or hospitalizations at that time.

**Lie 2: White Powder Incident, tried to implicate 'Hindutva/Modi Supporters**
- In his stand-up, Minhaj mentioned receiving a threatening letter at his home containing white powder, which he humorously linked to potential anthrax.
- He claimed that his daughter had been rushed to the hospital in response to this incident.
- How it was busted: Minhaj admitted that this incident did not happen as he described. His daughter was not exposed to white powder, nor was she hospitalized. He opened a letter with some powder, but it did not result in a medical emergency.

**Lie 3: Meeting at the Saudi Embassy and Threats**
- Hasan Minhaj discussed a meeting at the Saudi Embassy where he criticized Saudi Arabia's human rights record and claimed that a ceremonial seat was kept empty for an imprisoned Saudi activist.
- He also described receiving death threats, online threats, and a letter with white powder, which he linked to the Saudi-related incidents.
- How it was busted: A producer with knowledge of Minhaj's schedule confirmed that the meeting at the Saudi Embassy took place at least a month before the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, contradicting Minhaj's timeline. There was no ceremonial seat kept empty for an activist, and Minhaj admitted to fabricating elements for "emotional truth." Threatening tweets displayed during his special were also not authentic but exaggerated for comedic effect. Additionally, the white powder incident was previously debunked as untrue.

**Lie 4: Fabrication in "Homecoming King"**
- Hasan Minhaj's Netflix special "Homecoming King" included a story about his high school crush, a white girl who allegedly accepted his prom invitation but later reneged due to racial concerns.
- He portrayed her parents as bigoted and mentioned that he showed up at her doorstep on prom night, only to see her with another boy.
- How it was busted: The woman disputed certain facts, stating that she had actually turned down Minhaj in person days before the prom. She also mentioned facing online threats and doxing because of Minhaj's insufficient disguise of her identity, including her engagement to an Indian American man. Additionally, Minhaj had projected a real picture of her and her partner with blurred faces during his Off Broadway performance, further compromising her privacy.
