I had a conversation with a female friend who grew up in Nigeria. She was of the opinion that men also need to do some "house chores" if the women support financially at home.
I agreed with her but also asked a few questions. The questions (and her answers) were:

While growing up,
Q: Who washed your mum's car?
A: My dad
Q: Who cleans the outside gutters
A: My dad
Q: Who turns on generators, changed spark plugs, refuels etc
A: My dad
Q: Who trims the outside flowers when required
A: My dad
Q: Who changes bulbs, fixes small electrical and plumbing issues in the house
A: My dad
Q: Who irons your mum's clothes
A: My dad
Me: So do you still think your dad wasn't doing any "house chores?"
Her: You got me there

Most of us have experiences similar to this. Some of us have never even seen our mothers do any of those chores listed.
My friends in diaspora also confirm that it's not significantly different.
Dad mows the lawns
Dad shovels the snow
Dad rakes the leaves and does the gardening

The fact that most of the tasks that men do may not be every day does not mean that they don't know what is required of them. Most of them don't even need to be told.
Now, I'm not saying the men cannot do other chores, but I think it's very myopic to say men don't do chores...at best, and at worst, it's hypocritical to say that.
For a home to work, you need to keep an open mind to where your help is needed.
Serve each other, and don't kill yourselves over roles.
