Traveling alone for a month in a foreign country with a journal will teach you more about yourself than any self-help book.
I did this in Cambodia when I was 20.
No friends.
No routines.
No material items.
This forced me to meet new people and try new experiences.
But more importantly, it forced me to reflect on my thoughts and figure out who I was as a person and what direction I wanted to take in life.
Because when you’re thrown into an unfamiliar environment, you don’t have the people and things from back home to influence you.
All you have is you and your thoughts.
And when you have that kind of freedom, you stop thinking about what will make others happy and start asking yourself what you want in life.
