🏜️ ZION - in The Bible πŸ“˜
The word ZION has been deeply rooted in our memory/Neuro-Connect with the thought of some hill or mountain in Jerusalem..
πŸ‘‡ Short Thread covering:
Definition/Location/Hebrew spelling/Translations..
ZION (tsiyun Χ¦Χ™Χ•ΧŸ) also means a dry land, desert, wilderness.. in hebrew, also: 'midbar םדבר' and 'arabah גרבאה'(literally-Arabia)..
In many passages.. the word would be clearly referring to place outside Jerusalem.. obliging translators to use its actual meaning "wilderness"
πŸ‘‡
As it is mention above, the word 'zion' is derived from "siyah"
Note In Jer 50:12, the last 3 words were considered synonymous=desert..
Why would a word (same meaning) be repeated 3times?
"...The last/Final of nations shall be of a wilderness (desert) & Arabia(n)
The same word 'zion' with the exact hebrew spelling apparently can mean: Marker, SignPost, Monument, Marker..
πŸ€”Greek Sept VS Heb. Masoretic
- Same word, different meaning/places -
In Isaiah 25 5..Notice how in the Hebrew Masoretic the word Χ¦Χ³Χ•ΧŸ is translated to "dry place", some wilderness... where in the greek 7uagint, the word is kept as "ΣΡίον"=ZION
