Kobbie Mainoo is due to return for Manchester United after this international break - and it is well overdue.
Mainoo could become THE perfect midfielder for ETH, due to the fact he is:
- Physical
- Strong ball retention
- Very press resistant
- Technically brilliant
- Potentially elite dribbling ability
- Elegant in the 6/8
- High volume passer
- Strong in build up
Although it looks like Kobbie is ready for the responsibility, it is important that he isn’t thrown in completely straight away
Kobbie really flourished in United’s Youth Cup win, and backed that up last season with his strong youth team performances, along with his strong 1st team call ups.
At the age of just 18, Kobbie is a real experienced head on young shoulders, and no doubt we will be seeing plenty of him in a United shirt.
In the build up to a Premier League game earlier in the season, Ten Hag was quoted to say ‘I should reserve special mention for Kobbie Mainoo, who suffered an injury against Real Madrid but had already shown his potential among the senior squad. We all wish him a speedy recovery and hope to have him back in contention soon.’
If this doesn’t show the backing that Kobbie has from Erik, then I don’t know what will.
I’m looking forward to seeing Kobbie back for United, and to see where Ten Hag ranks him in the pecking order of his available midfielders.

People are misinterpreting this as me saying he should be thrown in with pressure.
That’s why I have said he COULD become the perfect midfielder for Ten hag, aswell as saying it is important that he isn’t just thrown in
