The use of language in @PeterBeinart's @nytimes article is revealing. Palestinian violence is described as: horror, gruesome, unspeakable, monstrous, savagery, barbarism, ugly, inhuman, crimes, murderous, brutal, sadistic, there are 8 mentions of "violence" all about Palestinians
@PeterBeinart @nytimes Beinart writes about the "ugly history of civilian massacres," but all of the examples are of Palestinian violence over 70 yrs. The only reference to "murdering children" relates to Palestinian violence. There are zero references to "violence" when describing Israel's actions.
@PeterBeinart @nytimes There are 2 references to Israeli civilians, 0 to Palestinian. Words describing Israeli actions: profoundly wrong, subdue Gaza, razing, mass expulsions, harsh realities, denial of Palestinian freedom, apartheid (attributed to human rts groups), crackdown, settlement growth.
@PeterBeinart @nytimes How can you credibly write about Israel without describing the violence it has inflicted on Palestinians? Is the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and the decades-long occupation not also sadistic, unspeakable, inhuman or gruesome? Are those words just reserved for Palestinians?
