ASB dividends are calculated every month based on the lowest balance in your account, so it doesn’t really matter when you invest every month.
Example 1:
You start the year with RM5,000 and invest RM1,000 every month.
The dividend for January is based on RM5,000 (lowest balance).
The dividend for February is based on RM6,000.
And so on.
Example 2:
You start February with RM5,000 but withdraw RM1,000.
Your dividend for that month will be based on RM4,000 (lowest balance).
ASB bonuses (for the first RM30,000) are also calculated in a similar manner.
The profits will automatically be re-invested into your account as additional units in January each year.
