On the night of October 15,a large party of raiders laid siege to Tharochi Fort, where two JAK battalions, one Gorkha and one Mslm took refuge. Brigadier Chhattar Singh ordered Major Nasarullah Khan to take two platoons of the JAK battalion to deliver ammunition to the fort.
Nasarullah deployed the Mslm company and told Gorkhas to rest. He planned a meeting with Mslms officers to kll non Mslm soldiers.
And at night they butcheπed the sleeping Gorkhas!

British handed Gilgit back to Maharaja in August 1947. Brigadier Ghansara Singh was appointed as Governor of Gilgit. Gilgit Scouts & Mslm officers in 6 J&K infantry wanted Gilgit to be handed to Pakistan.
6 JAK had 2 companies of Punjabi Mslm & 1 of Dogras & 1 of Sikhs. So Mslm officers of Battalion met Mr Brown ( Commandant of Gilgit Scout) planned to take Gilgit.
On 31 Oct 1947 they surrounded Governor's residence & gave ultimatum "to surrender within 15 min, else every non Mslm will be converted to Islm or klled".

He had 130 non-Muslim and 31 Mslm troops in Skardu. He had deployed Nek Alam and his Mslm soldiers 32 km towards west & platoon of Sikhs was positioned on the other bank of the river at a place called Tsari.
On the 9th of February, when the enemies attacked Nek Alam and his 32 Mslm soldiers who were towards west immediately changed sides.

No ration was left in the camp of Jhangar & line of communication Jhangar & Jammu were blocked.
