My first viewing of this young midfielder was in a preseason tournament last season against Kerala Blasters.
A mere 16 year old at the time, he was subbed at halftime and largely faded in and out of the game due to his lack of physicality.

Yet in those 45 minutes managed to catch my eye more than any other player did over the entire 90.

-As well as a slick dribbling prowess with a natural guile quite reminiscent of Yves Bissouma.
He’s a player who looked a catalyst for attacking moves whenever he touched the ball.

He’s since grown a lot physically and imposed himself in a number of roles, this season particularly as the team’s primary midfield controller.

-either through his own strong carrying game or ability to break lines.
As a player who first struck me as an almost luxury number 8, it’s really encouraging to see Tyrese apply his technical mastery to take on a variety of midfield roles.
Ultimately there’s clearly a supreme confidence, that isn’t misguided, in his own ability.

Being a player who is so trusted with the ball and exudes so much coolness in his actions, props him up as a real technical leader in the wake of players departing for the higher age groups such as George Abbott and Rio Kyerematen.
Looking forward, we’re likely at least a year away from seeing him get regular first team involvement but I believe he could be a serious option for Ange in the future - but ultimately resting on his continued physically development.
With our fluid midfield rotations I’d back Ange to find room in his midfield for a variety of different profiles, but Tyrese Hall has the technical capacity to emulate parts of all three of our starting midfielder’s games;
-Maddison’s linkup and cute dribbling in tight spaces
-Sarr’s carrying and willingness to make attacking runs without the ball
-Bissouma’s press resistance in buildup.
