ChatGPT has changed the marketing game.
Don't buy a $500 prompt course to be a pro.
Use this thread to learn prompt engineering for FREE!
(🧡)
In fact, companies are paying $300k+ salaries to prompt engineers.
I know "Engineers" hate this title.
But the market is... the market.
ChatGPT is the new Microsft Excel. You should know how to use it.
I'll show you how to leverage ChatGPT with good prompts today.
To learn the perfect prompt formula.
Master 5 simple concepts:
i) Task
ii) Context
iii) Exemplar
iv) Persona
v) Tone
Let's dive into each of these and what they represent.
Step 1: Defining the TASK πŸ”§βš’
This is the most basic yet the most crucial step.
It's when you tell the AI to do a certain thing.
Always start the task sentence with an "action" Verb.
Ex - generate, give, write, analyze, build, design, describe, etc.
Here's a good one:
Step 2. : Setting the Context πŸ’₯
Adding context limits the endless possibilities.
β€’ What is the user's background?
β€’ What does success look like?
β€’ What environment are they in?
I'm not saying this journey map is something fresh out of the mouth of the CMO at Pure Protein but it's pretty good. It's definitely on par with what most 3-4 year marketing professionals could deliver.
The difference is significant.
Just by giving some context.
Step 3: Give Exemplars βœ…
Exemplars are not necessary for every prompt but including one greatly improves the quality of output. An exemplar is additional reference points that allow the AI to go deeper when crafting the reply.
Step 4: Set a Persona πŸ§™β€β™‚οΈ
Many fail at this hack!
I asked GPT to be a "Marketing Genius with multiple years of experience in social media past"
Adding persona in the prompt = 10X Better Out!
Step 5: Justify the Tone πŸŽ™
Here are some examples of tone:
- Use a casual tone of voice
- Use a formal tone of voice
- Give me a witty output
- Show enthusiasm
- Sound pessimistic
ChatGPT Parameters:
4 parameters that can CHANGE the game of outputπŸ‘‡
- Temperature
- Max Token
- Top K
- Top P
I took the two extreme values of the Temperature parameter and had ChatGPT create a description for a fake brand called "FreshGuard Pro"
Here are the outputs ChatGPT generated:
Another key factor to think about is "Top K"
Ranging from 1 to infinity, the top K parameter decides how many suggestions should be focussed on while generating responses.
Look at the difference in output generated just by changing the value of the top K
Top P - It's very similar to Top K
If you choose 0.5 as your top P value, ChatGPT will consider the top options whose values add up to 50% of the total probability
Max Token:
Understanding this parameter, you can control and better manage the amount of data that ChatGPT can process.
ChatGPT allows you to send a message with a maximum length of 4,096.
βœ… EMBRACE these tactics:
- Be clear in your prompts
- Ask ChatGPT to role play
- Be specific with your requests
- Manage the creativity levels with temp
❌ AVOID these mistakes:
- Don't give vague prompts.
- Don’t be in a rush for prompts.
- Balance b/w creativity & relevance.
That's a wrap!
