13 ways to help your child CONTROL their emotionsđź§µ:
Labelling:
When negative emotions are labeled verbally..
They go through a process in the brain that removes power from them.
By simply saying "I'm feeling frustrated" your child will be better equipped to tackle the feeling.
Breathing Techniques:
3 Deep Breaths.
Often that's all it takes to stop things flying off the handle.
Teach your kids this when they're calm.
And then use it help them calm down when things are about to go off.
It's saved us more than once!
Gratitude:
Studies confirm people that express gratitude..
Are happier in general
Not only that..
Their immune system is better
brain functions improve
& they enjoy deeper relationships (with friends and family)
Gratitude at the dinner table is a great place to start.
Emotional Sponge:
Kids feed off emotions.
If the house is full of negativity and chaos.
Expect them to be the same.
You need to soak up the bad emotions crush them, and give out positive vibes.
If You're Happy and You Know it..:
Affirmations actually work.
This song is an example of one.
Get your kids to pronounce their happiness.
Get them to smile.
Even pretend ones help the brain feel happier.
Bright Start:
Be a fountain of positivity first thing in the morning.
By being up and fully awake well bofore your child..
You can ready yourself to give them a bunch of positive energy,
Be happy they're there to share the day with you.
And watch them light up all day.
Routine:
A schedule takes away the stress of irregularity.
Regular patterns create normalcy.
It is an anchor to tie them down when things feel uncontrollable.
Just follow the schedule and put one foot in front of the other.
Music:
Music sets a tone in people lives.
Listen to depressing music all the time and what do you think will happen?
On the contrary, happy bop creates an up that also has to come down.
Strike a balance between stable, peaceful music and upbeat happy ones.
Sunlight:
Sunlight helps the body produce the much needed Vitamin D.
Not only that but early sun helps in the process of synthesizing Serotonin in the brain.
This is the long term good mood chemical not many of us have enough of.
Make sure your child has plenty of it.
Good Diet:
Bit of an obvious one.
But the ups and downs of a dopamine diet leads to mood swings.
Keeping it whole and healthy with minimal sugar goes a long way to emotional regularity.
And blood sugar stable.
Nature:
Time in nature has proven to be the most effective way to help ground kids.
It lowers blood pressure and decreases stress.

Improve attention
Impulse control
& academic performance
If you can't get out, try adding some houseplants.
Movement:
Our bodies are designed to move.
Children sitting around moping is one surefire way to lose control of themselves.
Exercise gets blood flow going.
Improving the flow of blood to the brain and regulating energy levels.
Easier to stay happy when you're healthy.
Reduce Device Use:
Devices, regardless of content, heighten the stimulation in your child's brain.
This results in the release of adrenaline, which creates tension in your child.
This makes emotions more difficult to control..
As well as manifesting a number of other issues.
