History & Origin of Hindi & Urdu:
It's time to set the record straight on the misconception of the History & origin of Hindi & Urdu that has been spread by propaganda makers who claim to be historians.
(THREAD)
Ξ¦ Hindi traces its origin to the old Indo Aryan Chandasa or Vedic Sanskrit (that existed even in 1500/1200 AD)
Ξ¦ Urdu as a language didn’t come into existence until the period of Shahjahan & only became language of masses by the time of Aurangzeb.
Ξ¦ Passing through stages of classical sanskrit, pali Prakrit & apabhransa Hindi which is an Aryan speech evolved into New Indo Aryan language in 1000AD.
Ξ¦ While even the word β€œUrdu” comes to existence in 1776.
And unlike Mughal simps of JNU, Urdu scholar actually accepts that the term urdu came to existence in 1776.
Now I will Quote different Scholars, Historians & linguists from English background, Muslim background as well as Hindu background in that order
English:
1. William Yates: Oriental scholar during British India
Urdu differs essentially from Hindi- urdu is derived principally from Arabic/persian, Hindi is derived from Sanskrit. Urdu is peculiar in its appreciation to Moosalman while Hindi applies to Hindu.
2. Gilchrist: Linguist & Indologists
Hinduwee is an exclusive property of Hindoos alone & have therefore constantly applied it to the old language of India which prevailed before the moosalman invasion
3. John Barnes: British writer of Aryan Languages of India
It would be quite impossible in urdu to compose a single sentence without using aryan words, though many sentences might be composed in which not a single persian word occurred
Muslim:
1. Abdul Haq: an Urdu scholar & also a leader of urdu Movement:
The language that we call Urdu today is derived from Hindi & constituted of Hindi

-Delhi is an ancient city of the Hindus.Their king & their subjects lived there from time immemorial.
-Then the Musalmans arrived.
-As a result a mixture of language happened.
-During Timur the bazar of the city was known as Urdu.

7. Mahmood Shirani: Indian researcher & Urdu teacher at Islamia college in 1921
During the Ghaznavid period persians had started taking hindi words in their vocabulary.
He initially confused between Hindi & punjabi but Punjab at that time & until many centuries later was part of Hindu speech community.
Hindu:
1. Sunita Kumar Chaterjee: Indian linguist:
In the 16th-17th century indo Aryan language was taken up by the North Indian Musalmans & they discovered Urdu, a compromise language.
9. Ram Babu Saksena: 1st regular History of Urdu literature in English
Urdu is a dialect of the western Hindi which is directly descended from Saurasena Prakrit. The name of the language as urdu is given at a much later period.
