I read the very cheering and uplifting news story of Dr. Ikpeme Neto, @docneto a young Nigerian entrepreneur who was named by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy as the overall winner of Africaβs Business Heroes (ABH) Prize Competition, with his business,
Wellahealth Technologies, providing digitized health solutions. Just yesterday, while speaking about Harnessing African opportunities at the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Forum in London, I spoke strongly about the innovative spirit of young talented Africans,
especially Nigerians, whose only obstacle to success is the widespread leadership failure in the continent, especially Nigeria. If the right policies are pursued in supporting small businesses, Nigeria will have an army of young entrepreneurs catalysing the economy, creating jobs
and lifting people out of poverty. I heartily congratulate Dr. Ikpeme for this great feat that has also brought honour to the nation. I encourage the youths to embrace entrepreneurship in many sectors of the economy.
With this, we will build a New Nigeria with a strong private sector where small businesses will be the driving force, moving the country from consumption to production. -PO
