Are peanuts even healthy?! I'm of the belief that peanuts CAN be a health food.
1 study showed that eating peanuts every day can lower the overall risk of death by up to 21% & reduced heart disease by 38%. New microbiome research points to peanuts being brain-protective & can help memory & mood.
Research also shows that people who regularly eat peanut butter have healthier blood sugar levels & are also less likely to develop diabetes.
Keep in mind: Aflatoxin is a toxic mold that often grows on peanuts. VALENCIA type peanuts tend to not have this toxin. Non-organic peanuts can also have a lot of pesticides.
To be safe, I recommend making your own or getting an organic Valencia peanut butter in a glass jar such as this one (no affiliation, just giving an option since people were having trouble finding one):
