a normie lib friend sent me this essay & it's amazing what leftists come up with, trying to explain the anti-sex movement in pop culture. It all has to come back to "Late Capitalism" when you can't criticize Late Feminism, proliferation of porn, SSRIs etc

The author only mentions porn to say the "morally conservative posture" is that sex & desire are "unworthy of our attention outside of a pornographic setting" - Moral conservatives are pro-porn? No, that's the modern feminist position: "male gaze" only belongs in the porn ghetto
He also claims the "broader capitalist perspective" on sex is it "only exists for procreation & the production of new workers" & that "sex for pleasure & indeed pleasure itself is inherently anti-capital." I think these guys say this so often to get laid, they actually believe it
Who's sending us, and themselves, down manic spirals about what or who is "problematic," huh? How did that particular term become so popular this past decade? Was it the "morally conservative"? The Late Capitalists? The morally conservative Late Capitalists?
You can tell from the way this guy keeps going on about the genius of Paul Verhoeven as an antidote to all this that this guy is just a millennial or gen-x leftoid who's perturbed the vanguard moved past him & all he can do is cite Mark Fisher & Zizek to try making sense of it
