10 stupid lies people say to make themselves feel better.
And why these lies are keeping you poor, angry, and unhealthy.
1: I'm not wealthy because I didn't have rich parents.
Having wealthy parents *DOES* increase your likelihood of being rich, but it's far from a requirement.
Countless research proves most millionaires are self-made.
Believing this lie is keeping you poor.
2: I don't have time to work out.
Bull.
If it's important enough, you'll find the time. If it's not, you'll find an excuse.
There's nothing more important than your health.
And there's no better return on investment.
3: I'm just not a lucky person.
Luck helps, but luck has far less to do with success than people think.
You can't control everything, but you can control how you react.
- to never give up
- to think positively
- to practice self-care
YOU control your success.
4: I'll be happy once I have $10 million.
Chances are you won't.
A random dollar figure won't magically turn you into a different person.
Stop thinking about accumulating money and start focusing on your purpose in life.
That will make you happy.
5: The world is falling down around us.
You need to stop watching the news.
The news is built to make us fearful. Angry. Afraid. And that makes us tune into the news *again* to discover what we should be afraid of next.
It's a wicked cycle. It warps your brain.
6: All millionaires are evil.
This clever lie makes us feel better about not being millionaires. After all, we don't want to be evil.
A ton of millionaires exist, and most aren't evil.
You just hear about the ones who are.
7: It's not the right time.
The "not the right time" excuse keeps more people sitting on the sidelines than any other lie.
Here's the truth: it'll never be the right time. You'll always find a reason not to try.
Get your butt out there.
The time is now.
8: I don't lift weights because I don't want to bulk up.
Oh, please.
If lifting weights bulked you up that easily, most dudes would be walking around like Arnold in the 80s.
You gotta WANT to bulk up to...actually bulk up.
Lifting weights > cardio.
9: I'm not smart enough to do X, Y, or Z.
I've got news for you: Everybody is winging it.
Some of us are better at it than others.
It doesn't take a high IQ to be successful.
Opportunities come to team players who are easy to talk to and genuinely good people.
10: Things will improve once [my favorite politician] is elected.
More news: Politicians don't care about you.
They don't. Not even a little.
If you look to the government to improve your life, you'll be looking forever.
Things will get better *once you make them better*.
