One time at immigration office Abeokuta, was there for passport renewal.
They lined us up and asked us to sit in a waiting room. They called the first list, (Special list, guess they paid higher…people who obviously came later) and lied to us they were spillover from yesterday. I let that one pass.
They returned later and said if they call your name and you don’t scream, “Yes”, they’ll put your file under and you’ll be the last they’ll attend to. I mumbled “good”.
They called my name, I was in the front row, I raised my hand, walked to the table to show them my number then the guy removed my file and put it aside. I asked why, he said I didn’t answer “Yes”, I asked, but I’m here, why should I tell yes from the front row? as per we are in school and you’re calling register, he hissed then put my file under.
My next question was: Officer, you have confirmed that my file was the one you called and I’m here in front of you. Are you sure you want this trouble?? He walked me away back to the seat. I walked out. Made one or two calls to Abuja through @MrAfobaje and I waited. The whole place scattered in 20min.
“It’s not up to that, you should have talked that this is who you are, oya let them attend to you”. I insisted that I will only go my turn. Not earlier, not later.

When I went back to pick the passport, they didn’t allow me wait.. it was sharp sharp.
“You’re here, oya you take him to that office for his collection”.
Not like they care o, they just wanted me out of the place lol
