Another BLATANT LIE in Sharma's video claims that 1951 excavations by B.K. Thapar found a structure that was "possibly Buddhist". Thapar clearly states that it is impossible to make conclusions about the earlier structure excavated - but it "may have been a Surya temple"

This FALSE claim was 1st made by Romila Thapar who said a 19th c. "visitor" surveying Somnath suggested it was Buddhist. That "visitor" was Postans in 1838, a British armyman with ZERO historical expertise. In 1931 ASI superintendent Cousens called out Postans utter ignorance

In addition, Cousens, the ASI Superintendent made a thorough survey of the Somnath temple in 1931 & pointed out numerous Hindu details such as Shiva in Tandava dance, Nandi, Shiva & Parvati, scenes from the Ramayana besides Hindu architectural features like Pradakshina path.

Ruchika claims Farsi sources mention wanting to break the "idol of Su-Manat", but in 1030 AD, Al-Biruni, a courtier of Ghazni wrote about India & clearly mentioned Somnath being worshipped in form of a Shiva Linga. Romila Thapar dismisses the Su-Manat theory as propaganda.
