A comparison between Interim 2014-15 and 2024-25 budgets.
First after 10 years of Sonia Gandhi led UPA and latter after 10 years of Modi led NDA.
Summary:
10 years of UPA reduced it to dishonesty and resort to fraudulent means to save face.
10 years of NDA have put India on path to be the best managed large economy in the world.

A) 'Sleight of Hand' of @PChidambaram_IN in Feb 2014 Interim Budget
1. Dishonestly Pushed 2013-14 payments of subsides on Oil and fertilizers (35,000 Cr) to next year to artificially reduce the deficit. This played havoc with cash flow of these companies, destroying growth.
2) Reduced plan expenditure by Rs. 80,000 Cr - again to manage deficit. Essentially all productive investment was killed.
3) Entire payments to infra and other companies was brought to a halt. Result - growth stifled.
Just Rs. 8,000 CR was spent in Jan-March 2014 against usual Rs. 85,000 Cr.
4) Between 2005 to 2014, the capital expenditure of government had fallen from 23% to mere 14%. No won der these were jobless years.

B) Transparent @nsitharaman Interim budget of Feb 2024
1) Transparent budgeting with EVERY payment accounted for and yet maintaining fiscal deficit glide path
2) Capex - unlike in UPA era of reducing - is on a record high and continuously increasing. Effective overall capex is 15 Lakh crore....11.1 only on Infra
3) India is on : High GDP growth; moderate inflation; controlled deficit; record high capex expenditure; declining CAD; declining.
4) The last 10 years of NDA have been high growth and high job and employment generating years. Contrast with 10 years of UPA which destroyed high growth they inherited and failed to generate any quantum of jobs.
**********************
The economic management of PM Modi in these 10 years has been exceptional. As PM himself said - "we are in a "sweet spot". There is also the comparison with 10 years of UPA under Sonia Gandhi / Manmohan Singh.
The results are obvious. The choice is clear. Modi is taking India on path to Viskit Bharat. #ViksitBharatBudget
A great video by Team @nijunction of the comparison between interim budget in 2014 (by UPA) vs the same in 2024 (by NDA).
