2. The chief reason why I haven't been confrontational against CCC public representatives is that some have become personal friends & dear contemporaries.
As a matter of principle, I would struggle to engage in any public showdown with these colleagues and personal friends.

3. While I could never take any sort of credit for anyone's election during the past polls, I enjoyed public and private interactions with many of them, exchanging ideas or just posting about their campaigns
Given an opportunity, I would do it again and again without hesitation.

4. Secondly, I will not fall for counter-intelligence propaganda, insinuating that public reps who haven't resigned yet from Parly are pro-Tshabangu
Equally, not all public reps who weren't recalled survived on the basis of expressing allegiance to Tshabangu and his handlers!

5. Politics isn't random and simple like that.
The logic to the current madness is such that Chamisa is deliberately isolated.
To achieve this, deliberate misinformation as well as divide & rule tactics are employed.
There's more to be gained through cultivating suspicion.

6. Yet that being the case, I associate fully, without the view that our democratic struggle needs a different approach, away from the comfort of public office as things currently stand.
I reiterate my strong view that our current Parliament has been rendered illegitimate.
I reiterate my strong view that our current Parliament has been rendered illegitimate.
7. I fear also (as I described at length a few days ago) that remaining in those public offices serves to pacify voters.
The current Parliament regrettably serves the same purpose as the captured judiciary.
We are being dishonest with expectant voters by pretending otherwise.

8. By going to captured courts, we run the risk of legitimizing brazen lawfare.
By remaining in Parliament, we run the risk of projecting it as functional, yet the Mnangagwa regime has turned it into a meaningless talk-show, where J. Mudenda plays the role of some Amai Chisamba.

9. Equally, by remaining in those public seats, the occupants run the risk of legimitizing the Tshabangu shenanigans.
Come 2028, public representatives risk struggling to explain to the voters what they were able to achieve, yet odds were criminally stacked against them.

10. A few weeks ago, I had an engagement with my brother, Mafume.
I still maintain my stance that I refuse totally to acknowledge him as Mayor of Harare.
His election was preceded by tragic political scheming that has nothing to do with the electorate
That's my principled stand

11. Equally, as someone who has observed our Parly closely, I long concluded it serves the country no purpose.
Pretending otherwise only gives ZanuPF breathing space.
The democratic project, as we've supported it, has no business helping paint a picture of nonexistent democracy

12. But then, I'm sober enough to appreciate that the demand for resignation must be succeeded with an answer to the question: "Resign, then do what next!"
I've always argued that a morality contest with ZanuPF is pointless because you'll always win, and they do not care.

13. Yet, while that question is legitimate, it shouldn't be asked as an excuse to legimitize an illegitimate body.
In fact, our collective failure and/or ability to answer that important question is a consequence of our unintended comfort with the prevailing status qou.

14. Put differently, sometimes we fear losing these zones of autonomy because we have misled each other into thinking we have any zone of autonomy.
The recklessness with which ZanuPF has embarked on power consolidation means that without state power, everything else is pointless

15. Strategies within the struggle must evolve to match prevailing circumstances
Where an enemy conspires to grab your wheel in the middle of a race, it's folly to remain in that car.
Concern over what must happen when you jump isn't good enough reason to stay in that vehicle

16. Those who choose to remain as public representatives of CCC must do so knowing fully well that this CCC isn't the CCC citizens voted for.
Those staying in Parliament must do so, knowing fully well that ZanuPF has successfully made it impossible for it to function & deliver.

17. We will never find answers to the fundamental question of what will happen after the resignations, for as long as we are unwilling to accept reality.
The reality being Parly has been rendered illegitimate, with well-meaning legislators being set up for failure & humiliation

18. This situation is certainly not ideal
Sometimes, I quitely log off after watching helplessly as some well-intentioned, capable, brilliant & promising women and men occupying public office are dragged around by anxious and desperate citizens desperate for a quick fix solution

19. What this however shows, is the unsustainability of waging the democratic struggle when the democratic project is in its current state.
You're always better off fighting from a position where you dictate your own pace & decision-making, not this confusion & uncertainty.

20. The worst that will come out of this is apathy & disillusionment.
ZanuPF is absolutely banking on it.
What the voter requires now is an honest conversation about the state of the party whose candidates they voted for and circumstances in the Parliament they sent them to.

21. You're better off promising less & achieving it all than selling dreams.
The resignation letters from Fadzayi & now Markham were very clear.
Very little to do with the person of Chamisa, but an honest reflection on reality & what must happen.
Time for leadership!
enkosi!!
