Accounts with zero followers selling photos of naked teenagers have been my most faithful ‘likers’ since Twitter became X. I thought it was in preparation for my denunciation as a child pornographer; but I think Nick has identified their function. X-rated is the new shadow ban.
There are exact parallels between this and how the Online Safety Act 2023 empowers and requires online platforms to censor what we can see, say, read and write on the grounds of protecting children from pornography.
