Bladder stones can cause pain when you pee, blood in your pee, and they can potentially cause damage to the bladder or kidneys if left untreated. Let's learn how to prevent them from forming.

Imagine your bladder is like a little balloon inside your tummy that stores pee. Tiny pieces of minerals in the pee start sticking together and form hard little rocks inside the bladder.
These rocks are Bladder stones and can be small or big.
Bladder stones can damage the kidneys. This is because if a bladder stone is large enough, it can block the flow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys.
Bladder stones can damage the bladder. If a bladder stone is large enough, it can irritate the bladder wall and cause pain. In severe cases, it can even cause a hole in the bladder wall. This is called a bladder perforation.
Here are some reasons for Bladder Stones formation..
Not drinking enough water. This can lead to concentrated urine, which is more likely to form stones. When urine is highly concentrated, it means there is a lot of waste products and not enough water in the bladder.
Another cause is if your bladder doesn't empty completely when you pee. If the bladder doesn't completely empty during urination, some urine may remain stagnant. This leftover urine can become concentrated and contribute to the formation of bladder stones.
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Infections in the urinary tract can lead to changes in the composition of urine, making it more prone to stone formation.
Some medical conditions, such as kidney stones, can increase the risk of bladder stones. Kidney stones can break off and travel down to the bladder, where they may serve as a nucleus for the formation of bladder stones. Others may include benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)...
Prevention is always better, far cheaper and way convenient than cure.
Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your urine dilute. This helps prevent the minerals and salts from becoming too concentrated and forming crystals.
Avoid Holding Urine: Urinate when you feel the urge to go. Holding urine for extended periods can lead to concentrated urine and increase the risk of bladder stones.
Regular Bathroom Visits: Make sure to empty your bladder completely during each bathroom visit. Double-voiding (urinating twice in a row) can help ensure your bladder is empty.
Eating a healthy diet. This includes eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, which are low in oxalate.. below are some examples 👇👇
Manage Underlying Medical Conditions: If you have medical conditions like kidney stones or urinary tract infections, work with your doctor to manage them effectively. Proper treatment can reduce the risk of bladder stones.
Maintain a Healthy Weight: Obesity can increase the risk of bladder stones, so maintaining a healthy weight through regular exercise and a balanced diet is beneficial.
Limit Salt Intake: High-sodium diets can increase the amount of calcium in the urine, making it more likely to form stones. Salt abuse can lead to a number of health problems.
If you think you have bladder 🪨 or experiencing urinary symptoms, don't jump into conclusions or self medicate, see your Doctors. They can diagnose the condition & recommend appropriate treatment based on your individual circumstances.
