I came across this clip from the 2016 World Economic Forum where Nita A. Farahany who is Professor at Duke Law School discussing how “we now have the ability to implant false memories in the brain”. The striking thing about this is how she characterizes this as something that is actually a good thing.
Not only that she then says that “one of the emerging areas in neuroscience is pain detection and once we understand the circuitry’s that’s cause pain I guess the question is can we then INSTILL pain and use that and many coercive measures in the legal system as well.” To which the interviewer says “wow that’s amazing”.
This is the level of immorality we are dealing with, these people show no qualms with using technology to tap into the pain circuits of people’s brain to instill pain in order to coerce someone, legally.
