How do top 0.1% YouTubers get 100M+ views?
They use the key theory of social psychology.
Here's how πŸ‘‡:
The deepest, strongest human instinct is the instinct of survival and reproduction.
That lies at the foundation of our strategy.
Abraham Maslow came up with the theory that human curiosity is driven by innate needs.
His theory has generated hundreds of billions of dollars if not trillions.
It stands at the foundation of modern marketing.
So what does the theory state?
Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs - states that people have needs rooted deep down in our brains.
The needs create desire, interest, and curiosity toward certain topics, ideas, entities, actions, and more.
These needs are divided into 5 categories.
(detailed illustration at the end)
MrBeast uses this strategy on ALL of his videos to get >100M views on each upload.
I'll reveal exactly how each of his videos uses this strategy.
But first, we need to understand the theory, so keep reading.
1. Physiological Needs - are the foundation of human needs, of survival.
Physical safety, food, rest, reproduction, awareness of the world, nature, and the laws of the universe.
Bright colors catch your eyes.
Your reptile brain pays attention to it for threat detection.
It gets curious about these triggers, for survival, in the same way.
Dangers, animals, food, death, weapons, shelter, reproduction, natural phenomena, disasters, and all unknown/novel.
2. Safety needs - resemble physiological needs.
We go from getting scared by snakes –
To asking 'Can we afford to buy food next month'?
Personal and financial safety, need for property, tools, competency, and skills.
That's where most of the modern world is stuck.
The desire for luxury clothes, watches, cool cars, fancy homes.
And less strived for - the desire for competency, employment, and skills.
3. Love & Belonging.
As the human mind isn't in constant fear,
it starts to think about the future and their children.
Desire for love, intimacy, friendship, belonging.
This need is an interesting one, cause it doesn't show itself straightforwardly.
Friendship is a bond of trust, hardened by time, challenges, and games.
Games are a test of the limits of your body, pain, fear, emotions, competency in a safe environment with people you trust.
Sports is a game, but also a conflict between people and tribes you belong to.
Fitness and workouts are ways to get healthier but also attract a partner.
And there's also plane shared experiences with the loved ones.
You should remember that this need for Love & Belonging can show itself in different ways.
4. Esteem - is the first of psychological needs.
Having status, influence, fame, and power.
But also self-confidence, and self-esteem.
It gives us even more safety & assurance.
We strive for status in social media,
Follow the influence of celebrities, leaders, entertainers.
And create self-esteem in ourselves with our achievements.
You’re a busy creator who spends a lot of hours, and energy creating the best content that you can.
You know that ideas, thumbnails, and titles can be the difference between 50,000 and 5 million views.
But sinking days/weeks into ideation is too much?

By the way, don't underestimate people's desire to follow a person.
Did you know that 14 out of 20 of the most liked Instagram posts are posts by two best football players?
And other celebrities barely come close?
5. Self-actualization.
Happiness, self-expression, mastery, purpose, battle with oneself.
Hard to define, so I will leave it open for interpretation.
How does MrBeast use these categories?
First here's how *you* can use them:
0. Doing 100K-5M views? DM me, we will increase that.
1. Choose basic needs: Physiological, Safety.
2. Combine with more categories.
3. Keep it simple.
Here are MrBeast categories πŸ‘‡
Here's the breakdown of which needs MrBeast uses.
95%+ of them are basic human needs.
Usually combined with others.
But, why these 2 categories?
Here's why πŸ‘‡
Young, old,
rich, poor,
smart, dumb,
American, Mexican, French, Korean
- doesn't matter
- everybody has physiological needs and hence interest in it.
So the audience is in billions.
And because of the direct relation to survival, curiosity is the strongest.
Here's a visual I made to make it easy to remember everything.
