Phosphatidyl Choline and Astaxanthin are what we are exploring for gel repair after I tested them on myself and found them soothing. Lipid anti-inflammatories. “The brain and spinal cord constitute the central nervous system (CNS), which when injured, can be exceedingly devastating. The mechanistic roles of proteoglycans (PGs) and their glycosaminoglycan (GAG) side chains in such injuries have been extensively studied.”
“CNS injury immediately alters endothelial and extracellular matrix (ECM) PGs and GAGs. Subsequently, these alterations contribute to acute injury, postinjury fibrosis, and postinjury repair. These effects are central to the pathophysiology of CNS injury.”
The gel role in repair is a little more complicated: “We subsequently evaluate the dualistic effects of PGs on recovery: both PG/GAG-mediated inhibition and facilitation of repair. We then report promising therapeutic strategies that may prove effective for repair of CNS injury”.

Here’s a possible cause of brain fog from damage to the glycosaminoglycan gel of the extracellular matrix: “In addition, the negative charge of GAGs is believed to localise extracellular ions to neurons, creating an ion reservoir which facilitates rapid neuronal firing patterns.”
It is interesting that these net formations are what stops brain growth and development. One more reason why osteopathic cranial manipulation has to be part of recovery.
