You’ve all heard about Gabriel Moscardo, but there’s another Corinthians superstar you’ll want to know about…
Breno Bidon ⭐️
Super intelligent, all-phase #8 with an advanced understanding of the game🧠
Exceptional weight of pass, good tackler, high IQ technician✨

💥Academy Baller…
Breno Bidon🇧🇷
Club: Corinthians
Nationality: Brazil
Position(s): CM, AM
Preferred Foot: Left
Height: 5’9”/174cm
Age: 19
Strengths: passing, vision, weight of pass, spatial awareness, IQ, anticipation, tackling, shooting
Development Areas: weak-foot usage
Breno Bidon is seriously impressive.
Often you associate Brazilian midfielders with being skilful ball-carriers, but Bidon in many ways is much more like a stereotypical Spanish midfield technician.
Looks fresh out of La Masia.

Bidon’s weight of pass is outstanding.
The technique to play through balls, switches and long passes when the ball comes to him at awkward angles and heights is great to watch.
He has such a calm and controlled presence on the ball.

The Brazilian often sees passes before everyone else.
But not only that, he judges the ideal weight of that pass which means the attacker can receive it in their stride.
Passes with so much accuracy.

The all-phase, creative #8 passes very well through the lines as a progressive passer.
He loves to play long passes out to the wingers in space to play them in behind, then slowly approach the box to be available on the edge if needed.
🎥: @davidndrsn
One of the types of passes which Breno Bidon excels at is a disguised reversed pass. It just comes so naturally to him.
He sees spaces that other players don’t.
Seriously intelligent passer.
🎥: @NigroFerri
With his passing ability, I’d love to see more half-space crosses.
He has the whipped half-space cross in his locker, but often in those areas will look to play a ball through or shoot.
🎥: @davidndrsn
Breno Bidon has great spatial awareness.
He understands where the space will be in the future before he receives the ball, so at the point of receiving he already knows his next move and can just execute it quickly.
🎥: @davidndrsn
With a small turn radius, Breno Bidon is able to keep close control of the ball and swiftly turn past onrushing attackers.
He has so much class and ice-cold composure on the ball the way he manipulates the ball.

The Corinthians youth midfielder is a player you make a key figure in build-up play.
His awareness of space and press resistance combines to make an essential figure in the team at progressing the ball from deep.

With high football IQ, Breno Bidon scans constantly and understands where everyone is on the pitch.
When receiving the ball under pressure, he can get it on the half turn and just calmly escape any perceived danger.
With these types of technicians, the defensive side is often an area of concern. Not with Breno Bidon though.
This technician has serious off the ball quality too due to how well he reads the game and his desire to win the ball.
Being so intelligent means he can often anticipate passes coming and push up to intercept them.
Off the ball he has a real tenacity to win it back, a good high intensity.
Well timed slides and strong lunges help to sweep the ball off the opponent.
Goal-scoring isn’t really his role in the team as he’s more of a deep creator, but the Brazilian midfielder does sometimes arrive in or around the box to get on the end of any cutbacks.
That being said, Breno Bidon has a wonderful left foot on him and when given space in the final third he executes some great finishes.
Normally a whipped curved shot into the top left corner.
🎥: @Copinha
But in addition to these styles of finishes, Bidon also has great ball-striking when he just hits his laces through the ball.
His technique on these strikes is top drawer.
🎥: @Copinha
His finishing prowess on the edge of the box has to be utilised, which is why he’s best as a midfielder who’s given licence to push up into the final third.
🎥: @Copinha
Physically, Breno Bidon isn’t the strongest in the world and not an aerial threat, however he does use his body well in tackles and to read the game.
His awareness of space makes his physical strength less imperative.
One area of development is his usage of his weak-foot.
Because he’s so left-foot dominate this can create some angle bias at times.
To become a more well-rounded creator, he needs to not have this angle bias. It can create a level of predictability.
Breno Bidon comes from an impressive generation at Corinthians.
Gabriel Moscardo (PSG - on loan at Corinthians), Robert Renan (Zenit – on loan at Internacional), Murillo (Nottingham Forest), Guilherme Biro (Corinthians) to name a few. But there’s loads.
Breno Bidon won MVP of the 2024 Copinha. Previous winners include Kevin (2023), Endrick (2022), Bruno Praxedes (2020), Anthony (2019), Gabriel Jesus (2016), Ganso (2008), Edu Gaspar (1999).
Corinthians love to integrate their young players into the first team so we should see Breno Bidon break through into the first team at some point soon. Can’t wait to see how he does.
Thanks for reading. All the support is always greatly appreciated🤝
