IF YOU SUFFER FROM PROCRASTINATION, READ THIS:
1. Understand Why:
Procrastination isn't just laziness. It can be fear of failure, perfectionism, or even fear of success.
Recognize the root cause to tackle it effectively.
2. Break It Down:
A big task can seem daunting. Divide it into smaller, manageable tasks.
Completing each one will give you a sense of accomplishment.
3. Use the "2-Minute Rule":
If it takes less than 2 minutes, do it now.
For bigger tasks, just start – often, that's the hardest part.
4. Eliminate Distractions:
Clear your workspace. Use apps like "Forest" or "Focus@Will" to maintain concentration.
Set specific periods to check your phone or social media.
5. Prioritize Tasks:
Not all tasks are of equal importance.
Use the Eisenhower Box or the ABCD priority system to determine what needs immediate attention.
6. Reward Yourself:
Set up a reward system.
For instance, after working diligently for an hour, take a 10-minute break.
7. Visualize the End Result:
Think about the satisfaction and relief you'll feel once the task is done.
8. Accountability Partner:
Share your goals with a friend. Regular check-ins can motivate you to stay on track.
9. Set Deadlines:
Even if one doesn't exist, creating a personal deadline can instill a sense of urgency.
10. Mindset Shift:
Change your language. Instead of saying "I have to", say "I choose to". This simple switch empowers you, reminding you it's a choice, not an obligation.
The world is complex & interconnected.
