Shameless lie! 🧵
•Slavery was NOT common in HINDU culture
•Western Society practiced the most cruel form of slavery
These pictures are from as late as 1900s where hands & feet of Congo Africans were chopped off to meet the rubber quota of hungry slave traders of Belgium.
The cruel irony is, even today Belgium sell chocolate hands as a mockery & sadistic reminder of the slavery.
And they say Slavery was abolished by Western societies??
HUMAN ZOOS:
Asians and Africans were a market for human exploitation by the western world.
Not only the west colonised Asians & Africans for wealth but treated the indigenous people in the most beastly way as much as to display them in cage & zoos like animals.
Some pictures from Human zoos around the entire western world:
1. Europe 1899 : Selknam natives enroute to Europe to be displayed in zoo with the permission of chilean government
2. NewYork 1906 : A filipino girl child is displayed as some animal
3. Belgium 1958 : An African girl child is displayed & visitors watching her from behind wooden fences
4. Germany 1931 : A family he brought to Germany to be kept in zoo with animals
5. Germany 1931 : members of African Sara Cuba tribe to be kept in zoo. Their mouths tied up
6. Paris 1889 : Many people are seen caged like animals
7. France 1902 : A set of colonial postcards of Indian Malbaris in human zoo
8. Norway 1914 : unidentified people displayed in human zoo of Oslo
India got freedom from British colonialism not even 100 years back.
As a part of colonial tyranny British used to exploit poor peasants of Bengal to cultivate indigo in exchange of a small amount of loan & trap them in debt.
They often used violence to compel farmers by burning their food crops, seizing their cattle, beating, imprisonment & every possible atrocity they could think of until finally Indians revolted as late as in 1859.
While Europeans were treated as non human objects at the mercy of their owners, even Irish people weren’t spared by Britain. They were sold to Americans as slaves
Now let’s look at the IRONY of abolishing slave trade that Western society is proudly boasting
After huge opposition when bills were passed to abolish slave trade the SLAVE OWNERS RECEIVED HUGE COMPENSATION for giving up free labour & exploitation.
But what did the slaves who faced inhumane torture receive?
NOTHING. ZERO
Even after slave abolishment Acts were passed after huge campaigning slave system was still legally continued until 20th century.
Almost 2.5-2.7 million Africans were traded after the abolishment.
This is the reality of their abolishment of slave trade.
Now compare it to Indian Society.
Megasthenes who is known to have visited India as early as 302 BCE-208 BCE wrote that in Hindu society the law of the land ordains that under no circumstances no human can be treated as a slave but everyone enjoyed equal rights and freedom.
