Our applications for repairs are routinely rejected, citing trivial excuses like missing bills or bureaucratic red tape. It's as if our lives, scarred by the horrors of genocide, hold no value in the eyes of the administration. Despite almost ten months passing since we first
raised our voices, nothing substantial has been done. Assurances are made, promises are uttered, but action? That remains a distant dream. Living in these conditions, our hope is fading. Fading that someone, somewhere, will hear our pleas and act with the urgency our situation
demands. How many more monsoons must we endure with leaking roofs? How many more winters with crumbling walls? Our lives are at risk, not just from the elements, but from the callous neglect of those who have the power to change our fate. We are not asking for luxuries.
We are asking for the basic human right to live in dignity and safety. Is that too much to ask? But here we are, forgotten, abandoned, and left to fend for ourselves in these dilapidated camps. Our voices may be small, but our suffering is immense. It's a tragedy beyond words,
and one that we fear will continue until someone finally listens, and acts, before it's too late. I have attached photos taken from my mobile phone, hoping they might convey the urgency and desperation of our situation more effectively than words can.
These images capture the crumbling infrastructure that threatens our safety and well-being every day. There is no hope left from this cruel administration. They cannot return us to our homes in Kashmir, nor can they provide us with decent living conditions here in Jammu.
We exist in limbo, unwanted and abandoned, our lives dangling precariously on the edge. I write this not out of anger but out of a deep sense of sorrow and helplessness. We deserve better. We deserve to live in dignity, free from the fear of collapsing roofs and crumbling walls.
We deserve to be heard and to receive the support promised to us so long ago. Please, if you can, raise awareness about our plight. Share our story, amplify our voices. Together, perhaps we can finally compel those in power to act, before it is too late for us all.
