Rishi Kashyap and mother Aditi are the parents of Suryadeva.
Lord Surya is the father of Shanidev, Yamraj, Manu, Yamuna Tapati, Suvarchala devi, Bhadra, the AshviniKumaras, Karna and the monkey King Sugreeva.
Lord Surya has two wives namely Sanjana and Chaaya.
Lord Krishna's son Samba had worshipped Lord Surya to be freed from the curse of leprosy.
The 12 Surya Namaskaras are dedicated to the sun. Vahan of Surya Dev is a chariot run by 7 hourses.
Surya Shashthi and Chath puja are the festivals dedicated to Surya Dev.

There is no biological parents for this Devata who is fair, youthful, handsome with slim body holding a club and a lotus, riding a chariot pulled by ten white horses. He got married to 27 daughters of Daksha. Abhimanyu was the incarnation of Chandrama’s son Varcha in Kurukshetra war. But his body waxes and wanes due to the curse of his father in Law Daksh Prajapati. Somnath Jyotirling was established by Chandrama to do penance for Mahadevji to comeout of the curse. Chandra is believed to be the ruler of the mind, emotions, and the feminine principle. Moon creates mood swing in us. The moon which appears after Amavasya is called the new moon. Observing this moon is known as Chandra Darshan.

Son of Rishi Angira and Shradha is Brihaspati. The largest among all. Graha is Brihaspati. He is the Devata of Dharma and Guru of all Devatas. He is not as attractive as Budh or Chandrama, rather he has a huge body full of fats, and small eyes. He has bright golden yellow skin who rides an elephant. He has another name called Tikshnashringa. Shubha and Tara are his two wives. Brihaspati is praised in many hymns of Rig Veda. He is always in yellow attire. Guru is the greatest benefic until there is some very unusual situation. Pushkar Festival is the one dedicated to Brihaspati.
There are two temples in India dedicated to Brihaspati Devata – one in Kashi another in Jaipur.

Son fo Bhrigu and Kavya Mata is Shukra Dev. His original name is Ushan. From his three wives Urjasvati, Jayanti, and Sataparva he had many children, among them Devyani is the one whom we know quite well. Shukracharya is the first cousin of Brihaspati. Due to the request of Brihaspati to Vishnu to support in defeating the Asuras, Vishnu beheaded the mother of Shukracharya. From there Brihaspati and Shukracharya were never in tune. He even lost his one eye due to Vishu’s Avatar Vaman Dec. Shukracharya is the one who got the SanjeevaniMantra from Mahadev. He is the Guru of Asuras. Shukracharyahas been the guru of demons since time immemorial. He mentored various Asura Kings including Bali, Jalandhar, MadhuKaitabh, Mahisasur, Hiranyakashipu etc.
There is a temple in Maharashtra Kopargaon is dedicated to Shukradev.

Shanidev never had a good relation with his father Surya Dev. Shani’s Drishti is very harmful and the first drishti of Shanidev was on his father Surya dev who got eclipsed immediately. But he is the God of ordinary, unprivileged poor people. Shani Jayanti is the birth tithi of Shanidev celebrated by many.
Shani Shignapur in Maharashtra is the only temple dedicated to Shanidev.

Son of Simhika and Viprachiitti is Rahu, whose real name is Swarabhanu. He is the nephew of Prahlad Maharaj and grandson of Rishi Kashyap. His mother Simhika was tore apart by Hanumanji on the way to his first time Lanka travel. Rahu has a peculiar and scary appearance who rides a lion. Rahu eclipses Sun. He met Ketu during his childhood in Kashyap Ashram. They had a very good bond though Ketu was quite different in nature than Rahu. Rahu took part in Samudra Manthan but due to having Amrit by cheating Bhagwan Vishnu cut off his head. Though Swarabhanu was born as a Danava, but he got the position as Planet after getting immortal head after this incident. Infamous Kaal Sharp dosh is dedicated to Rahu-Ketu.
Kalahasti and Thirunageshwaram are two temples in south India dedicated to Rahu and Ketu.

Brahmaji creates Mrityu devi to bring death in order to balance the life in earth. When Mrityu devi asks the purpose of her existence, Brahmaji replies ‘Death’. Upon hearing it she becomes overwhelmed by her emotions that she decides she will not do it and thereby goes for a penance. Thousand years later Brahmaji told her people will die due to their own Karma not exactly due to her. She agrees to it and thereby sighs in relief. From that breath the Ketu originates. He spent his childhood in the Ashram of Kashyap Rishi where he met the grandson of Kashyap Shwarabhanu. He helped in Samudra Manthan but due to cheating Ketu’s head was Cut by Sudarshan Chakra. Ketubecame headless. Ketu eclipses Moon.
Thirunageshwar and kalahasti are two places dedicated to RahuKetu Worshipping.
